Yesterday I took the Izannah Walker doll to get an x-ray picture. It's stuff like this that makes my family members shake their head. But the vets office personnel were awesome. They had a good time doing this.
We didn't find anything earth shattering. Izannah Walker details in her patent her process:
"After they are taken from the press the forms are filled with hair, cotton, or other stuffing, and a piece of wood having been centrally and longitudinally laid between the two for stiffening they are tightly pressed together and secured by sewing, pasting or gluing their edges to each other. "
After looking at her, I figured out that it was a screen and the wonderful view behind. A new art form perhaps?ReplyDelete
Beadbugbit....YES....I was thinking new art form, too!Delete
Pretty neat, Dixie.ReplyDelete
OOOOOOOOOOO THIS IS SO AWESOME DIXIE....I DONT THINK I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT TO DO THAT...YOU ALWAYS AMAZE ME...VERY SMART....AND A PIECE OF WOOD....WOW...DID NOT KNOW THAT!!!ReplyDelete
Thanks, JoJo. I didn't know that, either. :-)Delete
cool picture with the nature background. would make a great card or something, maybe stationary.ReplyDelete
What's the round looking area in the space where her brain would be. Looks like the "wood" piece might go all the way up into her head. What do you think?
Rebecca - I need to get a better scan of this done. X-rays are bigger than my scanner.Delete
But yes, I think the wood goes all the way up into her head. It's why Izannah dolls don't sag at the neck or the body.
Dixie, You just crack me up! I'm glad you had that x-ray done. That thick piece of wood is surprising, isn't it?! I've used dowels in my dolls body and neck area but didn't think to use a wide piece. Maybe I should...hmmm.ReplyDelete
